Frequently Asked Questions

If you are an experienced WordPress user, you understand that sustaining a WordPress site takes time. If an update causes an issue, you have to determine what the cause is, try to fix it yourself, or even request support from the plugin/theme developer. All of this takes your valuable time.

If you are NOT an experienced WordPress user, then having an expert on hand to sustain your website is invaluable. Sustaining a WordPress site without sufficient experience or technical background can be extremely challenging and time consuming.

Customers who have enrolled in a support plan also receive discounted rates on further web design services (Reference the pricing above).

Our rates are $100 an hour.

We will ensure your website is optimized by doing the following:

  1. Running page speed tests to identify issues
  2. Ensuring that images are optimized
  3. Ensuring that the database is optimized
  4. Ensuring the client is installing quality (and correct) plugins
  5. Ensuring wp-cron is functioning properly.
  6. Checking for errors in the website logs.
  7. Making other recommendations

Appearance issues are defined as unintended changes to the layout of a page or a module, that was caused by a plugin or theme update. These types of issues are usually client side problems (CSS or JS) related. We will fix the issue, and/or coordinate with the plugin developer if necessary.

Staging update testing refers to installing WordPress, theme, or plugin updates in a staging environment, before the patch is installed on a production environment.

The updates are then tested using agreed upon specific test cases. Examples of test cases might be:

  • Test out the store's checkout process
  • Test single sign on
  • Verify the appearance of the home page has not changed

This helps ensure that an issue related to an update is discovered and resolved before that update is installed on the production environment.

In the Starter and Business support plans, support is limited to issues caused by a WordPress core, plugin, or theme update. If we host your website, we can restore a backup. If you require further assistance, the hourly rate will be invoiced in accordance with your support plan.

In the Enterprise support plan, support extends to issues caused by a WordPress core, plugin, theme update, and client mistakes. This means that if a client breaks a portion of their website, we will fix it.
